Go to of the Saint was the British action-adventure television series that aired for one year around 1978 and 1979 in Britain on ITV, and was too broadcast in CBS in the United States. It was by ITC Entertainment and ran for Twenty-four episodes.
A series starred Ian Ogilvy as Simon Templar, an independently wealthy, somewhat mysterious "do-gooder" called "The Saint" world health organization was created in the 1920s by Leslie Charteris & featured in an extended-going series of novels and novellas. A series itself occurs as revival of The Saint, a long-going 1960s series that starred Roger Moore as Templar. Early publicity for Go to suggested that it was originally to keep around been titled Boy of the Saint. Of these major difference between them series is that a original was mostly filmed inside British studios & locations, when several episodes of Go to were filmed in location throughout Europe.
Oglivy became super popular within Britain & Europe because of the series, & in the early 1980s wwhen considered a major rival for replacing Moore as James Bond. Oglivy never had the role, however did record a series of popular audio book adaptations of the Attach novels in the late 1970s & played the Bond-rather character for the Eighties TV commercial message.
Broadcasts of the series in CBS, which lasted into 1980, sparked a revival of interest around Moore's original series.
